Lambda Phi EpsilonAlpha Chapter

Thinking about rushing ΛΦE?

Lambda Phi Epsilon is an organization that will challenge every aspect of your college life. You will learn how to become a leader in your school, your community, and in the world that you enter after college. You will create bonds that will last a lifetime and meet people who will leave a lasting impression. Lambda life extends far beyond the reach of your school. With chapters across the country, you will have a chance to network with brothers from all over, bringing with it many opportunities, both during your time as an active and an alumnus. The road to becoming a Lambda is not easy, but the rewards are well worth it.

But it's not all hard work. Lambdas have fun, and lots of it. World-renowned for their social gatherings, Lambdas carry a strong sense of pride and a reputation of being well-rounded individuals. It takes a certain type of man to become a Lambda, someone who wants to become a leader among men.

...perhaps that's you.

Who we are:

The brothers at our annual Installation Ceremony in Las Vegas

Lambda Phi Epsilon was first established here at UCLA in 1981. Since then, we have expanded across the country to become the first and only nationally- recognized Asian interest fraternity. With 48 chapters, thirteen of which are in California, our fraternity has a strong presence throughout the United States and Canada. And while the brothers of Lambda Phi Epsilon are diverse in culture and creed, the bonds that we all share include promoting Asian awareness, teaching leadership skills, maintaining our traditions, and exemplifying brotherhood.

What we live by:

Our fraternity is very active on campus and we pride ourselves on the level of dedication that each brother contributes to the community. Every December, we are joined by Chi Alpha Delta, our sister sorority, in singing Christmas carols to hospital patients here at UCLA. In addition, we participate in team-building services including Habitat for Humanity and Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches, a bone-marrow drive focused on the Asian-American community.

Some things we do:

Every winter, our fraternity meets with Theta Kappa Phi, our sister sorority here at UCLA, and heads up to Mammoth Mountain for our annual ΛΦE / ΘKΦ Ski Trip.

In the spring, all of Lambda Phi Epsilon’s west coast chapters meet in San Luis Obispo for an event called Splatfest, a weekend full of paintball tournaments and parties.

During Memorial Day weekend, Lambda Phi Epsilon holds an annual gathering called National Convention. Brothers from all around the nation participate in brotherhood showcases, basketball tournaments, parties, and after-parties. This year marks our 27th anniversary, and we’ll be celebrating our National Convention in Chicago, Illinois.

Why rush Lambdas?

We are always looking for the most dedicated and hard-working men to be part of our fraternity. In return, we offer the recognition and privileges of being part of the first and only nationally-recognized Asian interest fraternity.

With a total of 48 chapters, we have an extensive active and alumni base which establishes a network of contacts for both school and the business world, a benefit of being part of a national fraternity that a single-chapter organization cannot hope to offer.

We would like to extend an invitation for you to come to Rush and meet the brothers. Rush is our chance to get to know you, so be sure to make it to as many events that you can. Let us show you our brotherhood so you can determine whether Lambda Phi Epsilon is right for you.

Common questions & answers:

Q: How much does attending Rush cost?
A: All Rush events are FREE, and transportation will be provided. Meet us at De Neve Plaza at the designated time for each event.

Q: What type of person are you looking for?
A: When you meet us, you’ll notice that no two Lambdas are alike. We believe that everyone has a unique personality that contributes to the diversity of our fraternity.

Q: Should I attend all the rush events?
A: If you are interested in joining Lambda Phi Epsilon, you are definitely encouraged to attend all rush events from beginning to end. The events are set up for you to learn about what our fraternity has to offer you. The brothers will be there to answer any questions that you may have about the organization. It is an opportunity for both you and the brothers to get to know each other better. Ask questions and just be yourself.

Q: Am I required to pledge if I attend Rush?
A: No. Rush is simply an opportunity for you to introduce yourself and meet the brothers. So have fun, enjoy yourself, and allow us to show you what our brotherhood is all about.

Q: Will joining a fraternity impact my schooling?
A: What you put into an activity is what you are going to get from an activity. You should definitely care about what you are about to join, but at the same time do not forget why you are at school. Study, study, study... Just be sure to find the right balance to have a rewarding college life both socially and academically.
